OF NAGAR CHASMAGHAR
The patriarch of the Nagar Chasmaghar family passed away peacefully in
Ahmedabad on 14 December 2021 at the age of 83. Jayantibhai A Patel was
surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be
deeply missed by them and the many people whose lives he touched.
The Indian Optician extends its condolences to all of them, and to Mr Patel’s
large circle of friends, employees and business associates.
Dada, as he was respectfully and fondly called by many, will be remembered
for his generosity, magnetic personality, philanthropy and a life well lived in
service to humanity.
A visionary, Jayanti Dada started the Nagar School of Optometry in
Ahmedabad, the first of its kind in Gujarat, in 2004. Today the school offers
bachelors, masters and a PhD program granted by Gujarat University.
