SHAILESHBHAI MODI

The industry was saddened to hear of Shaileshbhai Modi’s passing away in harness on
1 July at the age of 63.

Shaileshbhai joined Alankar Opticians in 1975 and handled the Kalbadevi retail shop in
Mumbai till his passing. He was known as an extremely hardworking person who adhered
strongly to his principles and ethics while providing the right leadership that saw Alankar
Opticians’ retail division grow and prosper.

His jovial, fun-loving, helpful nature and warm heart made him many friends. These
traits also stood him in good stead at work, where he built up great personal relationships
with all his clients and business colleagues. His love for music, old film songs in particular,
extended to his own renditions of the song Meri Pyari Bindu, which many in his vast circle of
friends will remember with great affection.
Shaileshbhai was the son of Ramniklal Modi and the late Shardaben, and brother of
Praful, Rajesh and Raksha.

The Indian Optician joins the industry in extending its deepest condolences to the family, his
wife Bhavna, son Saurabh, daughter-in-law Yesha, and grand-daughter Zaina.
