The Indian Optician, is a bi-monthly trade journal based in New Delhi. Our journal has a clear vision: to serve the interests of the optical community at large. We promote all aspects of optics in India. This, includes trade and manufacturing, healthcare and educational initiatives. In addition, we aim to raise the standards of eye care and ensure healthy sight for all.
The journal was founded in 1968 by the visionary, Late Mr. S.L. Kumar, a highly respected personality. Since then, the journal has been helping the optical industry and trade to keep up-to-date with scientific and technological advances. Practicing optometrists and dispensing opticians also use it to champion their cause.
Each edition covers the entire gamut of the eye care field. This includes research, medical and technological breakthroughs and reports on industry events. Besides, we feature eyewear fashion trends and new product debuts. Thus, readers can stay well-informed at all times. Our journal is meant for the trade only. Readers include optometrists, ophthalmologists and opticians. Additionally, retailers, manufacturers and dealers of various optical products, also subscribe to TIO. Apart from this, it is equally popular with students too. Many optical institutes’ libraries consider it as an important resource for students.
In the present business scenario, information is the key factor for any successful venture. The Indian Optician is a knowledge powerhouse that aims to provide just the right dose! Since over five decades now the journal is regarded as “one of the leading publications in the industry” by the optical trade, industry and profession.
As a journal that is at the forefront of South Asian’s burgeoning optical industry, The Indian Optician is an excellent vehicle and resource for entry into the Indian optical market. And as an organization that works to promote international bonhomie in the optical trade, we invite your participation, readership and feedback. It is our goal to serve the interest of the optical community at large and we look forward to achieving this objective with your valued assistance and vision.
For more than 50 years now, The Indian Optician has been committed to serving the Indian optical industry, trade and profession to the best of its ability. Looking back at these five momentous decades, we pause to acknowledge that we have had our share of challenges, but happily, plenty of successes to savour – and we certainly blazed a trail! And it’s also thanks to our contributors, loyal readers and advertisers that we have gone from strength to strength, playing a major role in our industry.
Today, in this increasingly innovative digital age, technology is taking the lead in helping enterprises differentiate themselves and innovation is now the name of the game. The TIO team works hard to bring the latest technologies and breakthroughs in the field of ophthalmic optics to our readers and thereby, helps them to keep up to date with the newest scientific advances worldwide. Our journal also often carries reports on cutting-edge research projects that are undertaken to prevent, treat or even reverse vision loss.
In addition, TIO plays an important role by connecting, educating and providing a great platform for the optical industry and trade to connect. We also work to raise the standards of eye care and promote healthy sight for all and prevent avoidable vision loss.
