SILMO PARIS

         EXUDED CHEER AMID

         INNOVATIONS AND TRENDS

ood cheer filled the air all through the four
days of Silmo Paris 2021 that concluded
Gon 27 September. The fair at Paris-Nord
Villepinte was abuzz as professionals of the
optical and eyewear industry took in the latest
innovations and trends and conducted business
with renewed energy after long months in virtual
mode, to the delight of the organisers as it
          surpassed all expectations.

“We were uncertain we would succeed, but we
were also convinced that the trade fair would have
to occur to get real-life business rolling again,”
says Amélie Morel, chairwoman of Silmo Paris.
Most of the 500 exhibitors were of European
origin, since the usual Asian representatives (from
China, Japan and Hong Kong) were prevented
from travelling. Still, there was strong attendance
with nearly 19,000 visitors, of which 37% were from
          abroad.

As always the trade fair showcased the best
of innovation and creativity, expertise and
          knowledge, discovery and discussion, albeit
in a reduced format, considering the situation
