responsibility and it is really difficult to get
rid of this tag.
No, I do not agree with the fact that Bigg
Boss helps to revive the career graph of the
actors. I strongly believe that no one can
change their destiny. However, by putting
in a lot of sincere hard work one can try to
change it a little bit. Bigg Boss does offer one
a platform from where one can take off but
it’s your own destiny that plays an important
role in making you a success or a failure.
Having said that, as I just mentioned,
even though I acted in serials etc., I gained
recognition mainly due to my stint in
Bigg Boss.
VK: What is your biggest extravagance?
RC: I am fond of electronics and like to
buy the latest phones, ear buds, cameras
and shades. I also like to collect shades of
various brands.
VK: Which sunglass brands do you like?
Can you list three hot favorites in order of
preference?
RC: I love to wear Ray Ban sunglasses as
it is my favourite brand and I feel they look
good on me. But for the snob value I like
Tom Ford and DITA also.
VK: Indian eyewear brands vs.
International ones. Please share your
thoughts on which are better and why?
RC: To be honest I have never tried an
Indian brand but as true nationalist if a good
Indian brand comes to the market I will go
for it rather than buy an international brand.
VK: Your favourite shopping destination
for shades?
RC: Dubai being a shopper’s paradise I
pick most of my shades from here, however,
If I like a particular shade I can buy it from
anywhere irrespective of a country or a city.
VK: Good brands often come with an
expensive tag. How much are you willing to

RC: I just have to like the brand – price does
not matter. My dad has always told me that if
I like a particular thing I should just go for it
without concentrating too much on the price.
VK: How many shades do you currently
have?
RC: Well let me think I have around 25
shades currently in all shapes and sizes.
VK: Which is your favourite shape in shades?
RC: I really like aviators because of the
comfort factor and I strongly believe that
shades have the power to change one's look
and personality completely.
VK: What are the factors you keep in mind
while purchasing sunglasses?
RC: They should fit one’s face properly and
one should look good in them.
V K: Do you prefer metal sunglasses or
acetate ones and why?
RC: I prefer metallic shades as they are
sleeker.
VK: Eyes are the most precious of the five
senses. How do you look after them?
RC: I make it a point to splash water and not
over strain my eyes. Eye exercises also help me
to keep them healthy.
VK: Can you recollect any funny incident in
relation to shades which has happened with
you?
RC: When I entered the Bigg Boss house, I
had taken my RayBan photochromic reading
glasses as they were in vogue at that time. As
they were photochromics they used to get dark
when they were exposed to light and I took
them to the Bigg Boss house thinking that
I would look like a dude in them. But I could
wear them just once as Bigg Boss made an
announcement that the contestants were not
allowed to wear the photochromic shades and
my glasses were changed to normal ones. So
all my efforts went for a toss thanks to the Bigg
Boss rules!!.
