         MILESTONES AND MISSION
















               he Delhi Optometrists Association (DOA) has
               grown considerably since it was founded in 1996,
          T both in terms of number of members as well as in
          its scope of activities and networking. What started out
          with 18 members has grown to 230.
             The DOA offers frequent updates through
          various modes of communication. More recently
          it has extended its outreach and communications
          to members through its website and social media
          presence. The website is a great source of information
          for its members as well as for others in
          the optometry fraternity; on Facebook it already has
          more than 2,500 followers.
             DOA registered under the Society Act, 1860 and it's
          annual or Life membership is open to professionals,
          students, universities and corporates, with a special
          category for senior citizens. The body is a founder
          member of the Indian Optometry Federation and has
          been a member of the Indian Optometric Association
          (IOA) since many years. Along with the IOA, the
          DOA has been represented at the World Council of
          Optometry (WCO), Asia Pacific Council of Optometry
          (APCO) and other international platforms.
             Since its inception, the DOA has been working
          towards the welfare of the profession across the
          Delhi NCT through multiple initiatives. In addition
          to its regular and annual meetings, activities have
          included more than 20 seminars, workshops,
          continuing education programmes and conferences.
          Strengthening its relationships with government
          authorities, international and national bodies,
          and participating in WCO and APCO educational
          programmes are also high on its agenda.
