Dear Readers,
Milan’s iconic MIDO was back with a bang this year as an
in-person show to stimulate the industry with its finely
curated events. And doing India proud at this year’s
MIDO 2022 was Mumbai’s well-known Classic Vision. The
stand-alone optical store bagged the prestigious Bestore
Innovation award – a first for India!
Another Indian company Surat-based Pramukh Opticals, a
well-known distributor of high-end global optical brands in
the country, was also awarded the title of Best Performing
Company by Italia Independent at Mido. Read more about
these companies that have successfully put India on the
global map, along with a comprehensive report on the
Mido exhibition in this issue. Other exhibitions covered in
this issue include 100% Optical (UK), Opti-(Germany) and
Silmo (Paris).
An interview with Matteo Mohwinckel, the International
Sales Director at Italia Independent, a listed company that
is one of the top sunglass and eyeglass frame design and
distribution companies, also makes for an interesting read.
Additionally, this issue carries many articles about path
breaking researches and new technological innovations
that promise to make life easier and better for all of us
